Bacon and Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 strips of bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • Half head cabbage, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • Vegetable oil, optional
  • Water
  • Salt & pepper

Method:

  1. In a pre-heated pan or pot, add the bacon and fry until the bacon pieces are crispy. Add a touch of oil if you want the bacon fat to render faster.
  2. Once the bacon pieces are crispy, add garlic. Sauté until the garlic is fragrant, about 10 to 15 seconds. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Add the cabbage and incorporate all the ingredients. Sauté for 5 minutes or until the cabbage is slightly softened.
  4. If the cabbage is not producing enough liquids, add some water to prevent burning.
  5. Cover and cook for 3 to 5 minutes on medium heat.
  6. After 3 to 5 minutes, season with salt and pepper. Cook for another minute before turning off the heat.
